Breathing with God
Breathing with God contains 88 spiritual exercises that help us stop and see God.
God longs to be with us, and invites each of us to His presence. Because we are created differently, God invites us into His presence in different ways. Some exercises are taken from thousand-year-old traditions, while others are new. Here are examples of creative exercises such as praying with colors and painting in the Bible. There are exercises where the whole body can participate, such as pilgrimage and dancing your prayer. Some exercises bring the Bible to life, and other exercises help us to see God in different stages and events in life. Even everyday chores—inviting people home, talking, vacuuming, and waiting—can become spiritual exercises as we stop and see God in what is and is happening.
The spiritual exercises are an invitation for children, teenagers, and adults—individually, in families, in groups, and in worship services—to breathe with God.
